Dear valued students and partners,
We hope you are well and in good health.
The current COVID-19 pandemic has been paralyzing many things across the globe.
We were hoping we could deliver good news to you by now, but it looks like the world still needs more time to get better.
We have made the very difficult and unavoidable decision to cancel our summer programs this year. It’s been a great joy for us to host such wonderful students at Dankook every summer so this was not an easy decision to make. We are sorry for the disappointment that comes with this decision.
Even though the situation in Korea has improved lately, we are still very concerned and are being extra cautious as we are not certain if the current decreasing trend in cases will continue. Furthermore, reciprocal travel restrictions that countries have in place are unlikely to be eased in the near future. With current restrictions for travel to Korea, you may need a visa to come, which is difficult to get at this time; additionally, all travelers are required to be quarantined for two weeks upon arrival, at their own expense.
In making our decision, we considered all the difficult circumstances, and thus, we kindly ask for your understanding.
Once we have updates regarding our next summer and winter programs, we will share them with you on our webpage and/or via email.
Above all things, we truly appreciate your ongoing interest and support for our program.
We look forward to the days when we can host students again and enjoy the Korean summer heat together.
Sincerely,
DANKOOK ISS TEAM
