Visa / Insurance
Visa
***Please contact the nearest Korean embassy or consulate for current information on travel and entry requirements.
- If you are planning to stay for less than 90 days attending programs in Korea, you should obtain a D-2-8 (short-term study) visa.
① Once you apply to the program, we will send you an invoice for the program fee payment.
(If you are attending as an exchange student, you will receive an acceptance notice shortly after applying.)
② After confirming your payment, we will issue documents for your visa application and send these to you via email.
③ Apply for the visa at the nearest Korean Embassy or Consulate General. Obtaining a visa can be time consuming; therefore, we strongly recommend that students apply in due time and gather information in advance to avoid any confusion or delay before applying for your visa. Visa fees may apply. - Nationals of countries which have signed visa waiver agreements with the Republic of Korea are visa exempt.
Please check if citizens of your country are exempt from the requirement to obtain a visa for short-term studies here. - DKU does not guarantee visa issuance for program participants. Korean embassies or consulates overseas have the final authority to issue visas.
Insurance
- Insurance should cover the period of your stay in Korea and students should make sure they know how their health insurance works if any medical problems occur.
- Students without health insurance (those who checked the “please arrange comprehensive insurance for me” option on your application) are required to purchase insurance through the ISS Team during the orientation. Insurance in Korea is priced at less than USD100 but the price varies slightly depending on the duration of your stay, age, etc.
